Great Great Grand Father

These three pictures are of my great great grand father. He came to the U.S. in the late 1800s, the first in our family to do so. Family lore says he had connections at City Hall with a white lawyer that the Chinese referred to as Ah Hoong. He acted as a translator for the lawyer and worked to help many other Chinese enter the country. He returned to China some time around 1907, where he fathered my father’s father’s mother. When he returned to San Francisco he claimed he had had a son and thus opened a slot for paper son to come to America. That slot was used by my father’s father’s mother’s nephew, Lam Sin Fong. When he returned to China he created a slot that my father’s father used to come to America.
